The Great Commandment calls me to love God with all my heart, soul, strength, and mind, and to love others as I love myself. What is the best way to love God? The apostle John says,
Loving God means keeping His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3 NLT
To love God by keeping His commandments requires me to spend time with Him in order to understand the desires of His heart and how He wants me to live. My time in prayer listening and responding to His voice and His Word have a purpose – loving Him.
