I love new ideas and “out of the box” solutions to the challenges in my daily life. Today it is easier than ever to find them as I “google” my life’s problems. But do these ideas produce the outcomes that I truly want and that God desires? This was a problem for the children of Israel so long ago. However, Jeremiah had a word from the Lord to help them and me.
This is what the Lord says:
“Stop at the crossroads and look around.
Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.
Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.
But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’Jeremiah 6:16 NLT
God offers me the way of life, but at times I say no. I prefer my own path. Choosing my own way offers me a life of exhaustion, chaos, and discouragement. Why do I choose my own path?
