The unseen, unknown and uncertain create for me fertile ground for anxiety and fear. However, it is also the precious soil for faith building. When I think I own the solutions to my problems, my mind goes into overdrive with negative thoughts of what could happen. My heart fears.
However, when I step back and look for God, trusting in His protection and provision and remembering His deep love for me, my faith grows. My fear fades. John said it well,
…perfect love drives out fear (1 John 4:18)
Growing in my faith, in my trust in Jesus, is the essence of my journey with Him. What seems so hard is that faith building happens best in those moments of uncertainty filled with the unseen and unknown.
