Learning from Jesus’ Questions – Tradition vs. Radical Living

And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? Matthew 15:3 NIV

Tradition is a comfort to me. I like doing things that are familiar from my past and culture, but when tradition and cultural practices encroach on God's way I am in trouble!

Faithful obedience to God can appear at times to be out-of-the-box or counter to the norm. In fact, it can even look irresponsible. I was once admonished to use more "common sense" when it came to fulfilling God's will in my life.

Join me in remaining true to the call of God and following Jesus always. The look is radical – radical love, radical mercy, radical forgiveness, radical service, radical living – only possible through the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit.

Dear Father, help me break free from the traditions in my life that impede my ability to faithfully obey your commands.
