Tis the Season to be Jolly – Really?

At times, living in a broken, sinful world can squelch the last drops of joy from my soul. God’s design for the world was much different.  His intentions were for me to experience joy and peace eternally in His Presence. But my ancestors Adam and Eve chose brokenness rather than the shalom of paradise in the Kingdom of God. Christmas is the celebration of the solution to all this sadness and sin. 

…the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. 1 John 4:14 NLT 

God sent Jesus to pay the debt I could not pay – amazing. Now because I have chosen to repent and believe I have, not only freedom from all my liabilities to God, but also the joy of living a transformed life. 

 

I am so glad there is a holiday to celebrate the day Jesus came to restore the world. Will you join me celebrating His birth, our “Joy to the World”?
